Atlas Township was organized in 1836 and was one of the earliest townships in this region to receive settlers. The township is primarily rural and located in the southeast corner of Genesee County. Atlas Township is home to one the newest county parks – 150 acres of natural landscape that offers a kayak or canoe launch point, fishing, hiking and winter activities. The community also features Atlas Valley Golf Club which was designed by renowned golf course designer Tom Bendelow.
